Freelance Ghostwriter & Story Researcher for Business Writing
We’re looking for a ghostwriter and story researcher to help me uncover, craft, and write engaging business breakdowns that captivate entrepreneurs, marketers, and business enthusiasts.
You’ll write in a clear, simple voice, sourcing fascinating stories, and helping to elevate this content to the next level.
If you’re obsessed with how businesses really work, love diving deep into entrepreneurial journeys, and can tell a story that keeps people hooked from start to finish, this role is for you.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Finding great stories – You’ll hunt down the most compelling business cases, entrepreneurial journeys, and little-known company strategies. You’ll find these in magazines, podcasts, newsletters, and scouring the internet
- Writing in our signature style – Casual, cool, irreverent, and simple. Some references are Scott Galloway and Alex Hormozi.
- Turning insights into must-read content – You’ll structure stories in a way that keeps readers hooked, balancing facts, humor, irreverence, and narrative flair. We’re not trying to sound smart, we’re trying to make it simple (which means we’re smart).
- Fact-checking & research – We don’t do fluff. Every story needs to be airtight. Millions of people will see these stories.
- Finding angles that matter – What’s the takeaway? Every story should give the reader something they didn’t know or make them see business differently.
What we’re looking For
- A storyteller with business chops – You love business strategy, marketing, and how companies grow. You know the difference between a meh case study and an insanely good business story. (i.e. “a pizza joint that makes $200K a day doing this one crazy thing…”)
- A writer who understands tone – We keep things simple, direct, and engaging. No corporate jargon. No fluff. Just damn good storytelling.
- A content detective – You can find hidden gems—the obscure but fascinating business moves that aren’t covered to death. You go beyond Google to dig up fresh insights. We’re not interested in Musk and Bezos. Boring. Give us the good stuff.
- A fast learner who thrives on feedback – If I say, “This section is boring, make it pop,” you know exactly what to do.
Bonus Points if You:
- Have written for business media, newsletters, or LinkedIn influencers.
- Have a knack for finding viral angles that get people talking.
