Freelance Food Writer – $21/hr
Static Media is looking for enthusiastic, experienced freelance writers to join our food teams! We own and operate seven major food brands: Chowhound, Daily Meal, Food Republic, Foodie, Mashed, The Takeout, and Tasting Table.
We are currently hiring for News and Feature roles. When you apply, you’ll be able to indicate which role(s) and brand(s) you are interested in—feel free to choose one or several!

- Researching and writing 2,600- to 3,000-word articles with a 1–7 day turnaround
- $0.08 per word
What You’ll Need:
- At least 3 years of experience writing content for print or the web, specifically with a focus on food, cooking, and dining
- Strong command of grammar, structure, and AP Style
- Comfort working in a CMS
- A creative, self-sufficient mindset
