We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Freelance Copy Editor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for refining and polishing a variety of educational content, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and adherence to established editorial standards. Responsibilities
- Edit and proofread a wide range of content including curriculum materials, proposals, and marketing copy to ensure grammatical accuracy, consistency, and style adherence
- Apply editorial guidelines such as AP Style, Chicago Manual of Style, and technical writing standards to maintain high-quality output
- Conduct fact-checking and research to verify information accuracy within content
- Manage multiple editorial projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
- Collaborate with writers and content creators to improve clarity, flow, and storytelling elements
- Use content management systems and word processing tools efficiently for editing tasks
- Ensure all content aligns with the organization’s voice, tone, and branding guidelines
Requirements
- Proven experience in copy editing, proofreading, or editorial project management within digital or print media
- Strong command of English language skills with excellent attention to detail
- Familiarity with editorial guidelines such as AP Style, Chicago Manual of Style, and technical writing standards
- Ability to research effectively and verify factual information accurately
