Editor, pv magazine USA (f/m/d) – Full-time, remote

Since its initial publication in 2008, pv magazine group (www.pv-magazine.com) has evolved into the leading global solar and storage media platform.

pv magazine publishes monthly and quarterly magazines in English and German and operates industry news channels covering specific markets (Global, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, USA, Brazil, Mexico, LatAm, China, Australia, and India). We report on developments in the global solar PV and energy storage industries, solar-related green hydrogen generation and heating systems (heat pumps), and regional solar PV and storage markets. Articles include, among others, new products and technologies, new policy developments, and markets. pv magazine also has an established and successful international events portfolio to deep-dive into key industry topics.

We are looking for

pv magazine USA is looking for an Editor (f/m/d) to join our U.S. team remotely. The Editor will work with the pv magazine editorial team in reporting on the PV industry’s markets and technologies on the pv magazine USA online news channel and daily newsletter. The topics include market trends, policy developments, and the latest PV and energy storage technologies, products, and solutions.

Your Responsibilities

• Write, edit, and publish daily news stories in a proactive manner, meeting the needs of both a specialist and more mainstream readership.
• Interact proactively with readers, public relations professionals and industry experts to foster a community around our content on behalf of pv magazine.
• Research and identify potential editorial themes from the solar and renewable energy industry.
• Copyedit and review articles and news provided by other editorial team members.
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor when conducting interviews, moderating webinars, and participating in pv magazine USA events.
• Attend occasional trade shows in North America.
• Work to advance the readership of pv magazine USA and also contribute to pv magazine media group as a whole.
• Closely collaborate with colleagues in Sales, Marketing, and Events.
  

Your profile

• Experience in journalism and writing news, particularly about clean energy and energy storage.
• Solid storytelling and editing skills.
• Fluency in English and the ability to write English clearly with a strong command of technical terms, grammar, spelling, and style. Other languages will be viewed favorably.
• Analytical skills and curiosity regarding business and industry trends.
• Knowledge of renewable energy, and specifically the solar PV industry, is a strong advantage.
• Good ability to understand technical concepts and fashion them into compelling copy, teasers, or technical articles that are easy to understand and illustrate the essentials.
• Committed to excellent reporting on the U.S. move toward a carbon-free future.
• Self-starter but responds well to editorial guidance and correction.
• Strong communicator and team player.
