Position Overview: The Quality Assurance Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and overall quality of MagiCore’s educational resources. This role involves editing, proofreading, and overseeing quality control across our growing library of resources, with a particular focus on materials designed for elementary students in grades 2-5.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proofreading: Review resources to identify and correct punctuation, spelling, grammar, and syntax errors.
  • Editing: Edit resources for consistency, factual accuracy, and alignment with company standards, branding guidelines, and the needs of the intended audience.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all resources meet functionality, consistency, branding, and overall quality standards through meticulous quality control processes.
  • Technology Use: Utilize Microsoft PowerPoint, Canva, Adobe Acrobat, Google Slides, and other relevant tools to complete editing and proofreading tasks. Adapt to new technology platforms as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Proven experience in editing, proofreading, or professional English Language Arts roles is required. A background in education is a plus.
  • Attention to Detail: Extremely detail-oriented, with the ability to maintain high standards in a fast-paced environment.
  • Mission Alignment: Comfortable working with teaching resources that integrate ideals like inclusion, social justice, and diversity.
  • Technology Skills: Proficient in using Microsoft PowerPoint and comfortable with various other digital tools such as Canva, Adobe Acrobat, and Google Slides.
  • Availability: Capable of meeting deadlines with a quick turnaround time. Estimated workload is 5-10 hours per week, with flexibility in work hours at the discretion of the contractor.
