Documentary Scriptwriter / Researcher
Arctic Gaming makes cinematic documentaries about the gaming world — the studios, the games, and the high-stakes business stories behind them. We tell the business of gaming like film.
We’re looking for a scriptwriter/researcher to own the research-and-writing engine behind the ~15min episodes.
The role
You’ll take a provided idea/concept and research it until you know it well, then structure and write it as a gripping, voiceover-ready long-form script. Your job is to take a “boring” story and add characters, drama, and tension (like a movie) while remaining true to facts.
You’ll:
- Research subjects in real depth.
- Shape raw research into a narrative arc with genuine dramatic stakes.
- Write cinematic, retention-driven scripts with strong hooks, loops, curiosity gaps and good pacing.
- Deliver voiceover-ready drafts.
You’ll thrive here if
- You like dramatic, cinematic nonfiction.
- You feel at home with channels like NoClip, MagnatesMedia, Jake Tran, or Wendover, and you understand why they hold attention.
- You genuinely like games and the business behind them, or you’re hungry to learn.
How we hire
We run a short paid trial: you’ll write the hook and the first act of a story you’re genuinely interested in telling.
To apply, send:
- One or two long-form scripts you’re proud of (links or docs)
- The story you’d want to write about if you were asked to do the paid trial.
- Bonus: Your personal #1 game of all-time.
