Direct Response Copywriter / Creative Strategist
We run a performance creative operation at a DTC brand scaling aggressively on Meta. We test constantly, read data obsessively, and our best creative strategists make more than most agency heads.
We’re not looking for someone who calls themselves a creative strategist because they learned to clone competitor ads. We’re looking for a direct response copywriter who also understands video — someone who reads Eugene Schwartz and actually uses it.
This is not for you if:
- Your research process starts with the Facebook Ad Library
- You’ve never read Breakthrough Advertising, Ca$hvertising, or Ogilvy on Advertising
- You write briefs that describe what you want instead of showing exactly how to shoot it
- You need someone to tell you what to test next after an ad fails
- You think a good hook is a trending sound with bold text over it
This is for you if:
- You can build a concept from an avatar insight alone — no swipe file needed
- You know the difference between a solution-aware and unaware audience and you write to them differently
- You can look at hook rate + CPP data together and tell me exactly what the problem is and what to test next
- Your briefs are so specific an editor executes them without asking a single question
- You’ve had at least one concept scale past $10K/day and you know precisely why it worked
- You’re obsessive — you study ads on the weekend because you want to, not because someone told you to
What you actually own
You run your pod end to end. Research, briefing, managing your editors, reading the data, deciding what gets tested next. 8+ concepts per month. Every feedback loop closed within 7 days of launch. No one holds your hand — the system is already built, you just have to run it.
Compensation
$5,000 – $10,000/month base depending on experience.
Plus an uncapped performance bonus tied to ad spend driven by your pod. A CS scaling $30K/day doesn’t earn $6K here — the math works in your favor.
What you’ll have access to:
- KaloData, AdSpy, and Facebook Ad Library for competitive research
- 6+ months of creative test history — wins, losses, and the reasoning behind both
- UGC creator pipeline managed by a dedicated UGC manager
- Curated swipe library organized by hook type, before/after, and CTA
- A direct response curriculum you’ll complete in your first 30 days
How to apply – Your resume needs to have your portfolio linked
Send your portfolio of your top ads and a 3–5 minute Loom walking through your single best-performing ad — the hook, what emotion you were targeting, what awareness level, and the result.
Don’t describe the ad. Break it down like a strategist who actually understands why it worked.
Applications without a Loom will not be reviewed.
