JohnHancock.com is undergoing a full migration from its current content management platform to a new system. As part of this transition, select pages will be carried over and require updates to align with refreshed content needs, current SEO recommendations, and revised page layouts or formatting standards.
Candidate Value Proposition
The ideal candidate for this role will have the opportunity to play a pivotal part in the successful migration and evolution of our corporate website. In this position, you’ll directly shape how our brand shows up across digital channels by refining, rewriting, and optimizing content that reaches a wide, global audience.
Typical Day in Role
• Audit existing website content to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Rewrite, edit, and optimize content for clarity, SEO, and brand alignment during migration.
• Collaborate with marketing, brand copywriting, and experience design teams to ensure tone of voice and style consistency across all pages.
• Create new content as needed to support updated site architecture or user experience improvements.
• Ensure compliance with accessibility standards and SEO best practices.
• Track and manage content updates in alignment with project timelines.
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
1. 5 years proven experience as a copywriter, preferably in website content and digital marketing.
2. Strong understanding of SEO principles and web content best practices.
Soft Skills
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to have Skills:
• Familiarity with CMS platforms and website migration processes is a plus.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree required
