About the Role
This role is responsible for growing our brand awareness, managing our social media presence, developing and managing influencer and creator relationships, coordinating public relations efforts, and leading convention strategy, coordination and marketing before, during, and after events.
You’ll serve as one of the primary voices of our brands, helping shape how readers, consumers, authors, publishers, creators, retailers, and the media experience our companies.
The ideal candidate is equal parts marketer, storyteller, relationship builder, and project manager who thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment. I true self-starter with great attention to detail.
What You’ll Do
Social Media & Brand Marketing
You’ll own the day-to-day management of our social media presence while ensuring each brand maintains a distinct, recognizable voice.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage social media channels for The INKfluence™ and INK Games Publishing™ across all major platforms.
- Develop and maintain monthly content calendars aligned with product launches, Kickstarter campaigns, conventions, seasonal promotions, and company initiatives.
- Create engaging social content, including graphics, short-form videos, Reels, Stories, carousel posts, and other platform-specific assets with the ability to lead design direction to graphic designs to help with pacing and speed of posts.
- Write compelling consumer-facing copy, including captions, announcements, promotional content, and brand messaging.
- Schedule, publish, and optimize content across all social media platforms.
- Build and nurture an engaged online community by responding to comments, direct messages, and customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Monitor social media performance, engagement, and audience insights, providing recommendations to continuously improve content strategy and growth.
- Stay informed on emerging platform trends, algorithm changes, and best practices, proactively introducing new ideas and opportunities.
- Develop and manage automated messaging, lead generation, and customer engagement workflows using ManyChat.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure marketing efforts remain consistent with product launches, licensing partners, events, and overall brand strategy.
Influencer & Creator Marketing and Management
You’ll lead our creator program from outreach through long-term relationship management, building authentic partnerships with influencers who love books, gaming, and fandom culture.
Responsibilities include:
- Recruit, onboard, and manage relationships with influencers, creators, and brand ambassadors.
- Develop influencer marketing campaigns supporting product launches, Kickstarter campaigns, and brand initiatives.
- Build relationships with BookTok, Bookstagram, YouTube, Twitch, cosplay, gaming, and lifestyle creators.
- Coordinate campaign briefs, product shipments, timelines, and creator communications.
- Track campaign performance and creator deliverables on MightyScout.
- Maintain creator databases and outreach pipelines on Hubspot.
- Identify new partnership opportunities that expand our reach and strengthen our community.
Public Relations & Media Relations
You’ll help shape how our brands are represented publicly by building relationships with media outlets, industry partners, and the publishing community.
Responsibilities include:
- Draft and distribute press releases for company announcements, product launches, Kickstarter campaigns, licensing partnerships, and major milestones.
- Develop relationships with media outlets, podcasts, bloggers, reviewers, and industry publications.
- Coordinate media interviews, promotional opportunities, and press coverage.
- Build press kits and media resources.
- Assist authors and partners with collaborative marketing initiatives.
- Monitor media coverage and identify opportunities to increase brand visibility.
- Help ensure all external communications remain consistent with our brand voice and messaging.
Convention & Event Marketing
Events are one of the most important ways we connect with consumers. You’ll lead the marketing surrounding every event while helping create memorable in-person experiences.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop marketing campaigns leading up to conventions and trade shows.
- Promote booth locations, product launches, signings, giveaways, and event schedules.
- Plan and execute preorder campaigns for convention-exclusive products.
- Coordinate promotional efforts that increase convention attendance and booth traffic.
- Capture professional photo and video content throughout events.
- Publish live Stories, Reels, and social updates during conventions.
- Collaborate with authors, creators, and partners to amplify event marketing.
- Help create engaging booth experiences that encourage community interaction.
- Coordinate convention logistics, booth setup, and all event-related documentation.
- Travel to conventions and represent the company several weekends throughout the year.
Marketing Operations
- Maintain organized marketing calendars and campaign timelines.
- Coordinate deadlines across multiple departments.
- Organize creative assets, marketing documentation, and campaign files.
- Assist with email marketing campaigns.
- Track KPIs across social media, influencer campaigns, PR, and convention marketing.
- Provide regular reporting and recommendations to improve marketing performance.
Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years of experience in brand marketing, community marketing, social media marketing, public relations, influencer marketing, or a related role.
- Proven experience managing business social media accounts with measurable growth.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating content creation, graphic design direction, and marketing campaigns.
- Excellent copywriting skills with exceptional grammar and attention to detail.
- Experience creating consumer-facing marketing content.
- Experience writing press releases or public-facing communications.
- Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, short-form video, and digital marketing trends.
- Experience using Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.
- Comfortable building relationships with creators, media, authors, and industry partners.
- Willingness to travel and work occasional weekends for conventions and events.
- Passion for books, publishing, gaming, licensing, or fandom communities.
