Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Copy Editor to review and validate educational workshop materials translated from English into French Canadian. This contract role will support the development of a workshop launching in March and will require timely review once translation is completed.
The ideal candidate is fluent in French Canadian and English and has strong copy editing experience, with the ability to ensure linguistic accuracy, cultural relevance, and consistency of tone.
Key Responsibilities
- Review translated materials from English to French Canadian for accuracy and clarity
- Ensure proper grammar, syntax, terminology, and idiomatic usage
- Validate that messaging aligns with the original English content
- Adapt phrasing as needed to ensure cultural and regional appropriateness
- Maintain consistency in terminology and style throughout workshop materials
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to clarify context or intent when necessary
- Meet tight turnaround timelines once materials are finalized
Qualifications
- Native or near-native fluency in French Canadian
- Strong proficiency in English
- Proven experience in copy editing, translation review, or localization
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines
- Experience reviewing educational or workshop materials preferred
