Conversion Copywriter
The Conversion Copywriter is responsible for developing high-performing, direct-response copy across multiple channels, including Google Ads (Demand Gen), streaming, landing pages, and print. This role does not include copy for social media.
This role is about writing authentic, engaging copy that converts throughout the funnel. The Conversion Copywriter will work closely with the Creative Director and collaborate with the creative and digital team to develop data-backed content that drives measurable business growth for our client.
What you’ll do
- Bring a constant stream of ‘breakthrough’ ideas to the table, testing new angles and hooks to stay ahead of market fatigue
- This role will have a strong focus on digital:
-Google Ads(Demand Gen), landing pages and more as we expand our services to include search (75%)
-Print: direct mail, newspaper, marriage mail, inserts (25%)
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, delivering high-quality, and error free work, in a deadline driven environment.
- Maintain an understanding of our client’s current and future needs and the KPIs we use to measure performance.
- Work with the print production team to ensure direct response ad copy aligns with client lead generation goals.
- Integrate AI-driven tools and emerging technologies into the copywriting workflow to accelerate the copy development process, research, ideation, and iteration.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Experience: Minimum of five to seven years of experience as a direct-response or conversion copywriter with a strong preference for experience in the home improvement or B2C sectors.
- Conversion Obsession: A proven track record of creating copy that drives specific actions and an understanding of Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) principles.
- Expertise: Understanding the difference between writing for social media and the Google ad space. Deep understanding of direct response advertising principles, performance-oriented messaging, and conversion-focused creative.
- Proactive: You proactively audit funnels and pitch copy experiments that drive real lift. No handholding required, just relentless, data-driven optimization.
- Team Oriented: Always possess strong internal and client communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Technical Savvy: Proven ability to use AI as a leverage tool, not a substitute for copy skill.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, English, Journalism, Creative Writing, or a related field.
- Current work experience in the Google Ads marketing space with a focus on Demand Gen.
- Demonstrated proficiency in AI-assisted writing tools, digital marketing platforms, or emerging creative technologies.
