What You’ll Do
As a Content Editor and Fact-Checker, you will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity and quality of our content. You will review, edit, and verify all published materials to ensure they are accurate, clear, engaging, and adhere to our brand voice and editorial standards. This role is ideal for a meticulous professional with a strong background in content editing / fact checking and a passion for accuracy and clarity in digital media.
Content Editing

- Review and edit blog posts, articles, and other content for grammar, style, structure, and readability.
- Ensure all content aligns with the brand voice and meets editorial guidelines.
- Collaborate with writers to improve the quality and flow of their work.
Fact-Checking
-
- Verify the accuracy of claims, data, and references in all content.
- Cross-check information with credible sources, including industry reports, expert interviews, and government publications.
- Maintain a comprehensive list of trusted sources for future reference.
Content Strategy Support

- Work closely with the editorial team to identify trending topics and ensure content aligns with current industry trends and audience interests.
- Provide feedback to writers and suggest improvements to enhance the overall quality of content.
SEO Optimization

- Ensure content is optimized for search engines while maintaining natural readability.
- Work with the Editorial team to ensure that SEO best practices are being followed.
Quality Assurance

- Perform final checks on all content before publication to ensure it meets the highest quality standards.
- Identify and address inconsistencies or errors in tone, style, or formatting.
Prepare and Publish Articles through Internal CMS

- Prepare and ensure the article is properly formatted in the CMS.
- Publish articles and ensure that they appear properly once live.
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in content editing, fact-checking, or a related role, preferably in the insurance or financial services industry.
- Exceptional editing and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong research and fact-checking abilities.
- Familiarity with AP Style, Chicago Manual of Style, or similar editorial standards.
- Knowledge of SEO best practices and tools (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush, Ahrefs).
- Proficiency in Content Management Systems (e.g., WordPress) and collaboration tools (e.g., Slack, Trello).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience editing or fact-checking insurance or finance-related content.
- Up-to-date knowledge of SEO best practices and Google Quality Content Guidelines.
