Community Outreach Coordinator – Part-Time – $25-$30/hour
Moore & Associates, Inc. is a public transportation consulting firm with remote offices in California, Florida, North Carolina, and Texas. We partner with public transportation agencies throughout the United States to enhance the communities they serve through innovative planning, marketing, market research, performance evaluation, compliance support, and public engagement.
Position Overview
Moore & Associates is seeking a motivated, dependable individual who is interested in building a career in marketing, community outreach, communications, and/or public transportation.
Working under the direction of senior staff, the part-time Community Outreach Coordinator performs community outreach activities on behalf of our clients and firm. Responsibilities include planning, coordinating, staffing, and executing community outreach events; representing Moore & Associates and our public-sector clients; engaging with community members and stakeholders; administering surveys; tracking outreach activities; and supporting other marketing and communications projects. As knowledge and skills develop, the successful candidate will have opportunities to take on additional responsibilities across a range of marketing and consulting activities.
This position requires travel both locally and, periodically, throughout the United States. The successful candidate must be willing and able to travel, including evenings and weekends. Because the position requires frequent field assignments throughout Southern California, candidates must reside in Los Angeles or Orange County.
This position is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to gain meaningful, hands-on experience while developing the skills needed to advance in the marketing and public transportation industries. The position is a part-time opportunity, working 30 hours per week, with the potential to transition to a full-time position based on demonstrated performance, reliability, consistency, and mutual fit with the firm.
Primary Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute community outreach events, public meetings, stakeholder engagement activities, and surveys on behalf of public transportation clients.
- Assist with event preparation, setup, staffing, public engagement, and breakdown.
- Represent Moore & Associates and our public-sector clients professionally at community events, meetings, and other public-facing activities.
- Coordinate multiple concurrent outreach projects, schedules, deliverables, and deadlines while ensuring client expectations are met.
- Track outreach activities and project progress, and communicate timely status updates to project managers and clients.
- Manage outreach deliverables through the review and approval process, ensuring accuracy, quality, adherence to client requirements, and timely receipt of necessary approvals.
- Update and maintain accurate outreach event tracking systems, including scheduling spreadsheets, the Moore & Associates master calendar, giveaway inventories, and other event-related tracking documents.
- Learn and effectively use new software, technology, and digital tools as needed.
- Participate in client-facing interactions, demonstrating professional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Assist with the development of social media content, website updates, market research, copy development, and other business development efforts as needed.
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills
- Some experience in community outreach, public relations, customer service, hospitality, marketing, advertising, communications, or a related field is preferred; demonstrated interest and willingness to learn will also be considered.
- Ability to travel independently to project locations throughout Southern California is required. A valid driver’s license, working cell phone, and access to reliable transportation will be necessary for assignments requiring driving.
- Strong writing ability and knowledge of grammar and punctuation.
- Experience with social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, or LinkedIn is helpful.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, including proofreading, editing, tracking, and documentation.
- Ability to accept feedback and apply it to improve performance.
- Willingness and ability to learn new software, technology, and professional skills.
- Professional and positive approach to working with clients, colleagues, vendors, and members of the public.
- Experience with WordPress, Google Analytics, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite software and/or CivicPlus website platform is helpful.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills are helpful.
Travel Expectations
Travel is an integral component of this position. The part-time Community Outreach Coordinator will participate in company-paid travel assignments both locally and, periodically, throughout the United States in support of client projects, surveys, public outreach activities, and business development efforts.
Travel may include overnight stays and weekend assignments depending on project needs. The successful candidate must be comfortable traveling regularly and working a varied schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Compensation and Potential for Full-time Employment
