Call for Writers – The Laundry Roleplaying Game
Whether it’s CASE NIGHTMARE GREEN or the forbidden pages of the Necronomicon, the paperwork of the Laundry demands precision, nerve, and a healthy respect for the fragility of reality. We’re looking for freelance writers who know and love The Laundry Files. Can you navigate the murky gap between mathematics and magic? Do you know your SOE licences from your Black Budget requisition codes? Do you know how to navigate the infinitely self condensing labyrinth that is the bureaucratic paperwork system of a government body?
If that sounds like your kind of hazard pay, we want to hear from you!
Cubicle 7 is always seeking new writers to join us across our many projects: now including The Laundry Files Roleplaying Game! Email us at jobs@cubicle7games.com with “Laundry Writer’s Call 2025” in the subject line, and include:
- A thematically appropriate writing sample of no more than 500 words. It should demonstrate clear and concise rules explanation, evocative description, world-building, and an active voice—bonus points if you avoid triggering any geometric horrors in the process.
- A CV including any previous writing experience or credits.
- Your level of familiarity with the Laundry universe, by Charles Stross.
Requirements
- Excellent written English.
- Ability to write to brief and deadline, and to incorporate feedback effectively.
- Familiarity with The Laundry Files setting and comfort writing atmospheric, characterful text that communicates game rules cleanly while maintaining the tone of bureaucratic occult espionage.
- Preferred
Knowledge of Cubicle 7’s roleplaying games and systems, especially previous editions of The Laundry Files RPG or similar investigative/espionage games.
