Are Your Posts Putting People to Sleep?
How to Write an Interesting Blog Article
I have done a lot of reading on the Internet, mostly for research. There are a lot of great articles on the Internet that are well-written. But there are also plenty of them that work better than a sleeping pill, so that I feel like this lady in the picture below.

When you are writing a post for the Internet, you want people to read it, share it, get others to read it. You don’t want it to put people to sleep. So here are some tips you can use for making your posts interesting and exciting.
- Don’t be Dry – Bueller? Bueller? Remember that guy in the movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off? Most of the kids in his class were falling asleep. No wonder Ferris wanted to take the day off! When you’re writing, write in an exciting way. Present your information in a way that’s exciting and fun. People will come back for more!
- KISS – Keep it short and simple. People don’t have time to read long posts. They want the information and they want it fast. Keep your sentences and paragraphs short. Also, use words people will understand. Not everyone is as smart as Hermione Granger.
- Use Bullet Points or Subheadings – This way people know where the good stuff is. When I write posts, I generally use bullet points or subheadings. I call this my meat and potatoes. The beginning and conclusion I consider appetizers and dessert. Everyone eats the main meal but not everyone eats appetizers and dessert.
To get people to read your posts, you have to make them readable. You have to make them interesting, short and simple, and well-organized. Otherwise people will find them boring and will skip right over them.
To get people to read your blog posts, give them something they want to read!
