Am I in the Wrong Places as a Writer?
This is the first time in my writing career that I think I hate writing. I’m suffering from a Saharan Desert Fever or the writers’ dry spell.
I think I want to go to sleep and wake up to something that will make me the happiest person in the world. I will explain my nightmare in a couple of sentences.
I have been looking at these websites and initially believed they were really good. But I wondered if becoming a part of them was progress, or if writing has become a horrible epic fail.
Ezdia
This beautiful website is looking for writers to write ebay buying guides.
The pay isn’t that awful. In fact, you get paid even if your article is rejected. They promise to pay at least $15/600 words and $20/775 words. According to them, that is the base pay rate.
However, it isn’t easy money because you have to write according to their guidelines.
Did I say the guidelines can make your head spin? Don’t worry… hang in there!
Pay per Content
It’s yet another writing website that made me feel great about my writing experience. Honestly, it’s a good place to start as a writer.
I understand they pay $5/300 words but it isn’t clear if it’s a base rate or a fixed rate. I want to think the higher the quality the higher the pay.
However, what if it’s a fixed rate?
Hotype
It’s also another great place to start as a writer because you get a chance to write more and earn a little more.
The pay starts at £3/300 words and the highest paid writer gets £4.50/300 words.
I think you get the cliffhanger on this one, right?
However, with determination and zeal you can be a thousandnaire. Who said you have to be a millionaire? So drop that pious attitude and work like a real citizen of your state (or should you?)
All in all, I am still fairly undecided due to the above examples. If things continue to go this way, I don’t think I want to write anymore!
