Our work moves from strategy and concept development through scripting, production, editing, and launch. We are looking for an experienced writer who can step into that process and consistently turn client information, research, and creative direction into strong short-form video scripts.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced short-form video script writer with a professional background writing for businesses, brands, corporations, marketing agencies, or advertising campaigns.
This is not an entry-level position, and we are not looking for someone who needs to be taught the fundamentals of professional scriptwriting. The right candidate should already understand how to develop a strong concept, write an effective hook, structure a 30–60 second video, maintain viewer attention, and create dialogue that sounds natural when spoken on camera.
You will write for clients across different industries, audiences, and brand voices. Some scripts will support paid advertising campaigns, while others will be created for educational, promotional, or organic short-form content.
The selected writer will begin by working with a single client. This allows us to evaluate the quality of the work, consistency, turnaround time, ability to follow creative direction, and overall fit with our process.
Writers who prove themselves can take on additional clients and substantially more work over time. As our client base grows, this role has the potential to scale to as many as 200 short-form scripts per month. Applicants should be comfortable with high-volume writing and capable of maintaining quality as their workload increases.
What You’ll Do
- You will write concise, engaging 30–60 second video scripts for businesses and brands.
- You will turn client briefs, offers, strategy notes, interviews, and research into focused video concepts and finished scripts.
- You will research unfamiliar industries, products, services, and audiences when additional understanding is needed before writing.
- You will develop strong hooks, clear messaging, natural spoken dialogue, and calls to action that fit the purpose of each video.
- You will adapt your writing style to match different clients, audiences, industries, and brand voices.
- You will revise scripts based on creative direction and client feedback while consistently meeting deadlines.
Requirements
- Applicants must have professional experience writing short-form video scripts for businesses, brands, corporations, agencies, or advertising campaigns.
- Applicants must have a degree in scriptwriting, screenwriting, film, marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Applicants must be able to provide professional writing samples or a portfolio that demonstrates relevant experience.
- You should have a strong understanding of hooks, pacing, structure, viewer retention, and calls to action.
- You should be comfortable researching unfamiliar subjects and identifying the information that is most relevant to a particular video.
- You must be capable of producing a substantial volume of scripts without allowing the quality of the work to decline.
- You must be organized, dependable, receptive to feedback, and capable of managing deadlines independently.
Nice to Have
Experience with direct-response advertising, conversion copywriting, marketing agencies, multiple-client workflows, or high-volume content production is preferred.
Details
This is a remote independent contractor position within the United States. Writers are paid per script, with the per-script rate determined by experience level.
The position begins with one client, with additional work assigned based on performance. Writers who consistently demonstrate strong quality, reliability, and output may eventually handle significantly larger monthly script volumes.
Pay: $2,000.00 – $10,000.00 per month
