HockeyNow Contributors
Contributors write at least three times a week about the team(s) we agree on. You pick the angles: game reactions, lineup and roster moves, trade and free-agent talk, prospects and the farm team, and the long-view analysis fans can’t get from a box score.
You can write more if you want to, including quick reactions when news breaks on your team.
Why write for HockeyNow?

HockeyNow is built team by team, so your work lands in front of readers who care about the team as much as you do. Those readers come back every day, before and after every game.
How much experience do you need?

We all start at zero. Whether you’ve covered the league for 20 years or you just started writing, we love making new friends. We don’t bite.
We’ve read enough applications to tell you the one obvious thing about writing: YOU MUST WRITE.
We’re not very concerned about where you went to school. What matters more to everyone in sports journalism is that you keep writing as much as possible to hone your craft, whether that’s on your own blog, a fan site, or anywhere else.
A degree may get you a “hello,” but a hungry writer who knows their team and creates content every day is going to be much more attractive to everyone, including us.
Are HockeyNow positions paid?

Yes. All of our positions are part-time, contract roles compensated with a monthly payment.
