Freelance News Reporter
The newsroom of the Dayton Daily News the Springfield News-Sun is seeking freelance reporters to write news stories about Springfield, Clark and Champaign counties.
We’re looking for dependable journalists who can report on local government, public safety, courts, education, business and other issues affecting the community. Assignments may include attending public meetings, conducting interviews, reviewing public records and producing accurate stories on deadline.
Please note: We are currently seeking hard-news reporters only — not lifestyle, arts, entertainment, food or event-preview writers.
Professional reporting experience is preferred, but we also welcome applicants who can demonstrate strong reporting, writing and news judgment.
