Who We Are Seeking
Grow By Three is seeking a Professional Writing Specialist (PWS) to support its professional development work remotely. The perfect match for this role will feel comfortable assessing, reviewing, and editing everything from content in general, down to the specifics of grammar and formatting. The PWS we seek must have extensive and well-rounded knowledge of the English language, and a strong understanding of syntax and grammar. They must feel comfortable communicating their recommendations effectively in writing and verbally. They should also be able to collaborate well with others, and show a positive ability to accept and implement feedback.
This Professional Writing Specialist will work in connection with our professional development team that is primarily focused on reviewing, editing, and providing feedback on personal and optional statements, résumés, cover letters, emails, and more. Therefore, experience editing creative essays, personal statements, optional statements, résumés, and similar documents is most desired. In addition, the PWS must be extraordinarily attentive to detail; perfectionists are encouraged to apply.
General Requirements
Candidates applying for Grow By Three’s Professional Writing Specialist role must be able to:
- draw on a background or degree in the fields of English, Journalism, Literature, Writing, Education, or similar field;
- read, review, and edit numerous documents thoroughly and carefully;
- advise on opportunities to revise and improve writing and/or written material(s);
- host meetings from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. ET on one or two days each week;
- host meetings between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. ET on set days each week;
- support creation of materials and assignments that bolster writing skills;
- assist with drafting, finalizing, and sending email messages or other company material(s);
- use Google Suite (Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Forms, Google Drive) at a high level;
- implement Grow By Three’s processes and methodology for document review and editing;
- adhere to very strict rules and security measures relating to confidentiality of information;
- manage time at an exceptional level, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines with specificity;
- brainstorm and collaborate well with others;
- implement feedback constructively and promptly;
- navigate projects with initiative and independence; and
- communicate needs, thoughts, and questions effectively.
Additional Requirements
Candidates applying for Grow By Three’s Professional Writing Specialist role must be able to:
- dedicate up to 20 hours a week to the team during the months of July, August, and September 2026, and 5-10 hours a week from October 2026 through February 2027;
- care about the advancement of inclusion within our society;
- show a desire to support others with compassion and empathy; and
- demonstrate extremely high levels of attention to detail and enthusiasm under time constraints.

Writing samples which show skill in writing and/or editing are accepted to bolster the strength of an application. However, the writing sample should not exceed two to three pages.
