The Ad Scripts Writer is responsible for developing bold, original, and emotionally engaging copy for paid ads, video ads, short-form content, and campaign creative. The focus is on creating high-performing ad scripts and ad copy that capture attention quickly, communicate strong ideas, and inspire Muslim audiences to take action.
The ideal candidate is a highly creative writer and concept thinker who can turn campaign goals into fresh, out-of-the-box ad ideas. They should be able to write copy that feels human, memorable, persuasive, and visually adaptable for video, social media, and performance marketing campaigns.
This role is best suited for someone who does more than write clean sentences. We are looking for a creative thinker who can develop strong hooks, unexpected angles, emotional storylines, and ad concepts that stand out in a crowded digital space.
Key ResponsibilitiesAd Script Development
- Write compelling scripts for video ads, reels, short-form social content, fundraising ads, awareness campaigns, and promotional videos.
- Develop strong openings, hooks, story arcs, calls to action, and emotionally engaging messages.
- Create scripts that are clear, persuasive, mission-aligned, and designed to hold audience attention.
- Adapt scripts for different formats, including short-form videos, paid social ads, testimonial-style ads, voiceovers, and direct-response campaigns.
- Collaborate with video editors, creative designers, along with the Project Manager and Chief Marketing officer who handle the communication with the clients to ensure scripts translate well visually.
Creative Concepting & Campaign Ideas
- Develop original ad concepts and creative angles for campaigns.
- Brainstorm fresh, out-of-the-box ideas that go beyond standard marketing copy.
- Turn campaign objectives into creative messaging strategies that feel engaging, relevant, and emotionally compelling.
- Explore different tones, storylines, audience pain points, and attention-grabbing approaches for each campaign.
- Contribute creative direction for how ad ideas can come to life through visuals, voiceover, pacing, and structure.
Ad Copywriting
- Write persuasive copy for paid ads, social media ads, landing page ad sections, headlines, captions, and campaign creative.
- Create multiple versions of copy for testing, including hooks, headlines, primary text, short captions, and calls to action.
- Tailor copy for different audiences while maintaining the organization’s voice, mission, and values.
- Write copy that is emotionally grounded, concise, and built for performance.
- Ensure ad copy is clear, compelling, and aligned with campaign goals.
Creative Review & Messaging Support
- Review ad scripts and ad copy for clarity, emotional impact, originality, and audience relevance.
- Strengthen campaign messaging by identifying stronger hooks, sharper angles, and more compelling calls to action.
- Collaborate with internal teams to refine creative concepts before production or launch.
- Ensure all ad copy and scripts are accurate, mission-aligned, culturally appropriate, and consistent with the organization’s tone.
Collaboration & Workflow
- Work closely with marketing, creative, video, design, and campaign teams to develop ad concepts from idea to execution.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions for campaign launches and creative testing.
- Take feedback from stakeholders and revise copy quickly while maintaining creative quality.
- Support the organization of ad copy, script drafts, creative concepts, and campaign messaging documents.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in creative copywriting, ad copywriting, scriptwriting, or performance marketing content.
- Ability to develop original concepts, creative angles, and emotionally compelling ad ideas.
- Strong understanding of how to write for short-form video, paid social ads, and digital campaigns.
- Excellent ability to write hooks, headlines, voiceover scripts, and calls to action.
- Strong storytelling skills with the ability to make messages feel human, clear, and memorable.
- Ability to think beyond standard copy and bring fresh creative ideas to campaigns.
- Experience writing for mission-driven, nonprofit, fundraising, advocacy, or community-centered campaigns is a plus.
- Important: Ability to write for Muslim community audiences.
- Strong editing skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable collaborating with designers, video editors, marketers, and campaign leads.
- Will report directly to the Chief of Marketing so comfortable with communicating to executives.
- Ability to receive feedback and revise copy while preserving the strength of the creative idea.
