About the Role
We are seeking a highly organised, analytical, and resourceful professional with experience in government, public policy, regulatory environments, investigative research, or journalism. This remote role is ideal for individuals with strong research and information-gathering skills who are interested in flexible, project-based work focused on US and international political, economic, regulatory, and public affairs topics.
The successful candidate will support policy-focused research initiatives, conduct investigative research, identify credible subject-matter experts and sources, and coordinate short-term consulting and research projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth policy and investigative research on US domestic and international issues, including politics, economics, finance, and regulation
- Prepare briefing notes, research summaries, background documents, and actionable insights
- Identify, evaluate, and organise profiles of subject-matter experts and credible sources, particularly those with federal, state, regulatory, or industry experience
- Engage and manage professional contacts, experts, and research contributors
- Verify information and maintain high ethical and professional standards
- Coordinate short-term research and consultation projects across time zones
- Maintain clear communication regarding timelines, deliverables, and project updates
- Support research documentation, information management, and administrative coordination
- Maintain organised records of experts, sources, projects, and policy topics
