Technical LinkedIn/X Ghostwriter – Venture Capital & AI/Data Infra
Location: Remote (Eastern, Central, or Mountain timezone working hours)
Employment Type: Contract
Compensation: Monthly or deliverables-based; depending on bandwidth and experience
About the Hiring Agency
We’re a small, sharp content studio that lives at the intersection of VC Twitter, data infra nerd-dom, and founder insights. We help VCs, data infra founders, and AI-native startups sound as smart online as they are in real life without them ever having to open a blank LinkedIn draft again.
Our clients are the ones raising funds, shipping AI infra, speaking at conferences, and shaping tech. Your job is to turn their ideas, rants, and half-baked notes into content people want to read.
The Role
We’re looking for a Technical Ghostwriter who can jump between voices without dropping a beat. One day you’re writing a conviction-driven post from a GP about why this AI wave is different; the next, you’re explaining LLM evals from a founder/CTO’s POV; the next, you’re making data warehouse content not-boring for developers.
If you love the idea of being the unseen hand behind smart, opinionated posts in VC and AI/data infra – and you’re happiest when you’re writing a lot – this will feel like play.
What You’ll Do
Strategic Content Creation
- Write authentic, clearly differentiated content for 4+ distinct voices: analytical VCs, deeply technical founders, developer-first company accounts.
- LinkedIn Posts: Craft timely thought leadership posts (up to ~20 per month per account, depending on your bandwidth and our agreement).
- Twitter/X Threads: Create punchy, data-aware threads (12–20 per month across accounts) that tap into what the ecosystem is talking about right now.
- Turn complex concepts (ML infrastructure, database internals, evaluation frameworks, venture economics) into content that’s both technically correct and enjoyable to read.
- Build narratives around portfolio companies, founder journeys, investments, and why any of it matters.
Real-Time Newsjacking
- Keep an eye on what’s breaking in AI, data infrastructure, venture capital, and adjacent tech (model releases, mega-rounds, new policies, etc.).
- Spin those moments into smart, timely content quickly so our clients show up early in the conversation.
- Add perspective, not just “hot takes,” and help position clients as people worth listening to when the news hits.
Research & Community Intelligence
- Live where the conversations are: Reddit and Twitter/X. Use them to spot patterns.
- Pull ideas from technical papers, deep-dive essays, conference talks, podcasts, and industry reports… and translate them into content angles and examples.
- Surface emerging themes in AI/data infra and venture before they become LinkedIn clichés.
Client Interaction and Light Account Management
- Join short, focused check-ins (usually biweekly or monthly) to align on priorities, get fresh ideas, share what’s working.
- Take messy inputs like voice notes, bullet lists, screenshots, links and turn them into clean content plans and drafts.
- Handle light expectation-setting: confirm timelines, clarify scope, and flag risks early.
- Gather and organize client feedback so each round tightens the voice and positioning.
- Coordinate lightly with the client leads so everyone knows what’s going live, when, and why without you having to become a full-time PM.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications
Technical Fluency (Non-Negotiable):
- You genuinely understand data infrastructure: databases, warehouses, analytics stacks, and how real teams use them.
- You’re comfortable with AI/ML basics: LLMs, agents, evaluation, inference, observability, model training.
- You know how developers work (open source, GitHub, dev tooling, community norms).
- You speak “venture”: pre-seed vs seed, portfolios, LPs, conviction, founder-market fit.
- You get SaaS fundamentals: PMF, GTM motions, technical hiring, community-led growth.
You don’t need to have shipped a model to prod or raised a fund but you should be able to hang in a conversation without stopping to Google every other term.
Writing Excellence:
- You can convincingly write as someone else, matching tone, cadence, opinions without slipping into generic “LinkedIn-speak.”
- You’re comfortable with both long-form (800+ words) and short-form (threads, posts, hooks). Most work will be short-form.
- You’ve written content that sparked engagement: thoughtful comments, DMs, invites, followers.
Platform Mastery:
- LinkedIn: You know what performs (structure, hooks, white space, pacing) for professional / founder audiences.
- Twitter/X: You understand threads, quote tweets, replies, and how to plug into existing conversations without being cringe.
- Reddit: You respect the culture, know where technical people hang out, and understand when to post, when to lurk, and what would get you downvoted.
Additional Requirements:
- You work on Eastern, Central, or Mountain hours so we can often collaborate in real-time and address client requests and feedback quickly.
- You can hit 2–4 hour turnaround windows when needed without your writing falling apart.
- You’re comfortable juggling multiple voices and accounts without mixing them.
- You’re okay with a bit of client time (light check-ins, feedback, clarifications) and don’t need an account manager to translate everything for you.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of ghostwriting for executives, founders, or subject-matter experts.
- Background in journalism, technical writing, or B2B SaaS content.
- Experience inside a startup or around early-stage teams.
- You already follow VC + AI/data infra folks and can name a few whose content you actually enjoy.
- You’re comfortable working async with tools like Notion, ClickUp, and Slack.
Success Metrics
We’ll look at things like:
- Are we getting thoughtful comments, shares, and real conversations?
- Do clients (and their friends) say, “Yep, that sounds like me”?
- When something big happens, are we early and relevant or late and generic?
- Can you keep a steady drumbeat (20–30+ pieces a month across accounts) at the quality bar we need?
- Are we seeing inbound (founder intros, speaking invites, podcast asks, collab ideas) tied to content?
- Are you clear, responsive, and a joy to work with?
Our Ideal Candidate
You might be our person if you:
- Nerd out on both the ideas and the craft of writing.
- Already spend a questionable amount of time on tech Twitter, startup Reddit, and niche AI blogs.
- Can get a solid first draft out quickly, then happily sharpen it on a second pass.
- Feel a little itchy when you see weak takes about AI or venture and immediately think, “Here’s a better way to frame that.”
- Enjoy switching contexts: one hour you’re in fund strategy land, the next you’re explaining agents or DuckDB to devs.
Work Environment
- Fully Remote: Work from anywhere that overlaps with US timezones above.
- Async-First: We keep meetings light and use tools (Slack, docs, Loom, etc.) to keep things moving.
