General Description
This position will develop, document, and maintain system or business documentation and workflows to support the operational requirements of the Department of Commerce (DOC), International Trade Administration (ITA). The ideal candidate will have excellent writing and editing skills and experience providing guidance for complex technical volume creation. The successful candidate will work closely with the rest of the Project Team and Government SMEs to translate complex, technical information into well-written manuals for technical and non-technical users.
Duties and responsibilities
The successful candidate will write and/or edit technical documents, including business proposals, reports, user manuals, briefings and presentations, functional descriptions, system specifications, guidelines, special reports, and other project deliverables to meet contract requirements; develop outlines and drafts for review and approval by technical specialists and project management ensuring that final documents meet applicable contract requirements and regulations; research and gather technical and background information for inclusion in project documentation and deliverables; consult relevant information sources, including library resources, technical and financial documents, and client and project personnel, to obtain background information, and verify pertinent guidelines and regulations governing project deliverables. Examples of efforts include:
- Develop, update, or maintain documented workflows for a system or business process.
- Scan and store information in a digital form to a central repository.
- Develop comprehensive manuals for application users, ensuring instructions are actionable and straightforward.
- Produce in-depth technical documentation for developers, IT teams, or advanced users (e.g., API guides, data models).
- Prepare clear and concise release notes that highlight application updates, bug fixes, and new features.
- Develop onboarding and training resources, such as tutorials, quick start.
- Check documents for spelling, grammar and content problems.
- Develop templates and guides for use by the Project Team.
- Suggest revisions to templates as appropriate.
Education
Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) (or equivalent) and related industry certifications.
Professional Certifications
None required.
Clearance Required
Must have completed or be able to complete a Tier 1 National Agency Check and be successfully adjudicated to occupy a Public Trust position.
Experience
Minimum of 4 years’ experience developing and maintaining AI solutions.
U.S. Citizen or Similar
Must be a U.S. Citizen

Excellent oral, written, and communication in English. Must be able to work in a team environment with members that include personnel from other companies, Government program management and administrative personnel, and technical staff members. Must be able to perform with minimal management oversight and have strong time management skills.
Working conditions, including location
Remote work environment.
Client duty hours are Monday through Friday.
Salary
$85 to 100k Annually
