Freelance Music Writer – Grunge – $21 an hour
Grunge is looking for experienced writers who are passionate and knowledgeable about Classic Rock, spanning the 1960s and beyond. That includes the legends (like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Nirvana, Queen, etc.), the one-hit wonders, the hidden influences, the drama, the lore, and the cultural impact of the genre.
This role will focus on short articles and mini-features, typically between 500 and 1,000 words. Strong research skills, a clear voice, and the ability to hook readers quickly are key. Writers should be able to bring historical context, editorial insight and opinion, and genuine enthusiasm to this subject matter. An understanding of music history is a must.
These positions are work-from-home with flexible, stable hours. Location does not matter; U.S. and international candidates are encouraged to apply.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Claim and complete articles from a list of available assignments
- Research and write 500—1,000-word articles using our custom CMS
- Write content with a quick turnaround
- Follow our style guide, editorial strategy, and publishing standards to ensure high-quality content

Requirements:
- 3+ years of writing or editing experience
- Proficiency in CMS platforms
