Freelance Web Copywriter
SimpsonScarborough is expanding our freelance digital talent pool and seeking skilled Web Copywriter to support higher education marketing projects. You’ll help shape content that’s clear, engaging, and optimized for web audiences.
Responsibilities
- Write web copy for pages, sections, and components (headlines, body copy, CTAs, navigation, forms, etc.) that aligns with brand voice and conversion goals
- Collaborate with UX strategists and designers to develop content outlines and ensure copy supports optimal user flows
- Create both long-form web content and UX writing (button text, form labels, error messages) that balances clarity, persuasion, and accessibility standards (WCAG)
- Optimize copy and messaging for usability testing and iterative improvements
- Deliver precise, on-brief copy that meets project deadlines and client objectives
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience writing web copy, preferably in agency or higher education environments
- Strong understanding of digital content strategy, UX writing principles, and accessibility standards
- Experience creating content outlines and collaborating closely with UX strategists
- Ability to write both compelling long-form content and concise component copy
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deliverables
