Food and Beverage Senior Course Writer

360 Training is looking for a Food and Beverage Senior Course Writer and subject matter expert to develop and produce engaging online training and safety courses, as well as review and edit existing courses. These courses include food handler and food manager training, alcohol seller and server training, and marijuana responsible vendor training. The ideal candidate will have experience in both food safety and alcohol safety training, with marijuana vendor training experience a plus but not a prerequisite for hire (the right candidate can learn more about this area of training once hired). This role will report directly to the VP of Content and Development, and work in collaboration with 360’s regulatory compliance team, instructional designers and content developers, creating courses in MS Word, according to a standardized course template, which are then built on our proprietary LCMS for end-user delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with the VP of Content and Development and other key product and regulatory management personnel to assess and align resources needed to complete new course development initiatives.
  • Acting as de facto Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all food and controlled substance development initiatives.
  • Hiring and managing external SME resources to complete regulatory updates and new courses, as needed.
  • Working alongside 360’s course developers, graphic and media designers to produce user-ready digital courses.
  • Ensuring that all courses meet regulatory requirements, best practices standards for inclusive adult learning, and 360’s internal standards for eLearning courses.
  • Supporting 360’s regulatory compliance team to ensure all regulatory curatives received are addressed and approved in a timely manner.
  • Directly contributing to curriculum development and regulatory update efforts as both a writer and SME.
  • Reviewing customer course feedback on a weekly basis to ensure that reported issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Monitoring KPI data for 360’s courses, including exam pass rates, course evaluation scores, and course abandonment rates.
  • Conducting in-depth competitor and market analysis to identify potential acquisition and market expansion opportunities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years practical, hands-on experience within the food and beverage industry as a writer or instructor (online or classroom).
  • Familiarity with ANSI and ANAB standards and practices.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize with high attention to detail

Technical Skills Required:

  • Exceptional writing and editorial skills (sample will be required as part of the application)
  • Experience with e-Learning content authoring tools (Articulate 360 experience preferred, but not required)
  • MS Office Suite of products (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with ASANA project management system a plus but not required.
