Content Editor, Decido – $4,000 a month

Decido is a hyper-growth digital media startup with several high-scale online magazines. We specialize in creating highly engaging content reaching over 45 million consumers!

As a Digital Content Editor with Decido, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality, engaging, and accurate content for our audience. You are the gatekeeper of content quality, ensuring content is polished to perfection before we reach millions of readers.

This role will suit someone with great attention to detail, knowledge of the entertainment space, and excellent grammar and editing skills. You should be comfortable juggling and shifting priorities throughout the day in a quickly-evolving fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Proofread a high volume of digital articles and refresh older content to optimize to 100%
• Edit content for spelling and grammatical errors
• Ensure content is compliant and meets content guidelines before being published
• Review image selection based on content guidelines and make adjustments as needed
• Image selection should be compliant with copyright guidelines and regulations
• Communicate effectively with the content team and provide ideas to improve and perfect content
• Form an understanding of the readership and help craft content that is directly targeted to that audience
• Work with the content team to improve the creation process from top to bottom
• Perform research to fact-check articles for errors and inconsistencies

Requirements

• 2 years of experience editing content (preferably in the entertainment industry)
• Comfortability juggling multiple projects at once and an ability to adapt to an evolving environment
• Strong editorial skills and a keen eye for detail
• A collaborative and resourceful team player
• Excellent grammar and editing skills
• An eye for quality and a good sense of what consumers want to see online
• Experience using WordPress (preferred)
