Role Description: Magazine Writer

This is full-time remote role for a Magazine Writer at Flagship Publishing in Nebraska. The Magazine Writer will be responsible for creating engaging content, conducting interviews, writing articles, editing, and collaborating with the editorial team on magazine publications, with a primary focus on Nebraska Life.

Key Responsibilities

• Research, write and edit features, departments and profiles for our magazine.
• Develop and pitch story ideas that align with our editorial direction and audience interests on the following themes: travel, history, nature, arts, communities, food.
• Do research and conduct interviews gather information, insights and anecdotes.
• Collaborate with editors, photographers, and designers to ensure cohesive and visually appealing content.
• Meet deadlines and manage multiple assignments simultaneously while maintaining high editorial standards.

Qualifications

• Strong writing and editing skills
• Experience in conducting interviews and research
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Knowledge of magazine publishing industry trends
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Proficiency in photography a plus
• Experience in AP Style
• Experience writing in narrative storytelling style
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications or related field
