Responsibilities

  • Writing rigorous questions and explanations in your subject area
  • Giving and responding to feedback
  • Managing time to complete self-paced projects
  • Design and development of educational materials in accordance with the state’s core standards. They must identify and problem solve major standard gaps.
  • They may require to work on for specific curriculum development activities, such as designing new courses, student assessments and learning objectives.
  • They may be required to evaluate course scopes, sequences and components within standardized frameworks.

Requirements
Basics

  • Subject expertise (Writing / Editing)
  • Middle or high school teaching experience
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Flexibility in adapting to project changes
  • Comfort with technology
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Desire to collaborate with other educators.
  • A positive, can-do attitude!

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree in the subject area or related field (advanced degree preferred)
  • Experience writing and editing assessments and reference-style text (Grade 6th – 12th)
  • Familiarity with AP requirements via AP training, teaching AP courses, or scoring AP exams (AP certification preferred)
  • Familiarity with the approach and requirements of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) – AP Physics, AP Chemistry & AP Biology
