Music Times is seeking a passionate and experienced Editor with a strong editorial background and deep knowledge and connection in the music industry. The selected candidate will be entrusted with managing and leading the publication’s team of reporters. This pivotal role involves setting the editorial voice and direction in a dynamic 24/7 environment.

The ultimate objective is to position Music Times as one of the leading publications for the Music industry and for music fans. The Editor will be fully responsible to produce an editorial offering that combines the high standards of classical journalism, the pursuit and facts, with innovative, multi-format delivery.

Job Description:

  • Leading the editorial team: The Editor is responsible for hiring, raising, and managing a team of reporters and editors with high-standard classical journalism standards.
  • Developing and executing the editorial strategy: The Editor must work closely with Pleroma Media’s other editorial staff to develop and execute an editorial strategy that aligns with the publication’s mission and goals through daily early morning editorial meetings. This includes setting editorial priorities, identifying key topics and trends, and ensuring that content is produced in a timely manner.
  • Overseeing the publication’s news and interview coverage: The Editor must ensure that the publication is covering key music news and events and that the coverage is accurate, balanced, and informative. This includes working with reporters to identify and pursue stories that are of interest to the Music Times readership.
  • The Editor is responsible for ensuring that each piece of content produced is original.
  • To have, build and maintain relationships with artists and key industry sources: The Editor is expected to possess an extensive network within the music industry, to build and maintain relationships with key sources within the music world, such as artists, agents, producers, labels etc. This includes identifying and cultivating relationships with external partners, such as other media outlets, agencies, and industry experts, in order to identify and pursue newsworthy stories, go after facts, and promote Music Times coverage.
  • Work with other editorial teams to develop and improve content delivery through various media (text, short, long videos, audio, etc).
  • Ensuring editorial standards are met: The Editor must ensure that all content published by Music Times meets the publication’s standards for accuracy. This includes ensuring that sources are properly vetted, all facts are verified, and that content is free of bias and errors.
  • Utilize analytics tools to understand and develop a loyal and growing audience.
