JOB DESCRIPTION

The Marketing Content Writer/Editor supports the marketing team’s programs, plans and initiatives by writing, editing and innovating our communication materials, both internally for Mission Mutual and for external clients. Adhering to specific writing guidelines, the content writer should be skilled in creating engaging and original content for a targeted audience using a distinctive voice and style. This position demands a well-organized and detail-oriented individual with exceptional writing skills for a variety of platforms. Conducting in-depth research on themes linked to MM or a client’s cause, coming up with concepts for new content forms, and editing and proofreading articles are all duties of the content writer.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Write, edit and proofread content in a natural but excellent voice that connects with target audiences, boosts engagement and enhances brand awareness
  • Create compelling copy for marketing and external communication materials, including brochures, whitepapers, websites, articles/blogs, annual reports, brand-centered storytelling and speech writing
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Ensure that Mission Mutual communications are consistent in format, tone and brand voice; review old content to update information and improve readability; edit/proofread content produced by others
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to brainstorm content ideas for various platforms, including websites, newsletters and whitepapers
  • Research topics and combine various online sources, interviews and studies to generate content that is original, factual and authentic
  • Maintain a workflow and oversight system for content related to events throughout the organization including invitations and follow-ups, plus occasional scripting
