We are looking for an experienced health writer with some SEO expertise to join our growing Editorial team!

 As a health writer for Bionews, you will work on deadline to write informative, factual, and engaging articles for our audiences of rare disease patients and caregivers. Articles can range from lighter feature stories to more complex research-based resource pages. 

 The perfect candidate for this role is an excellent writer with a background in health/medical journalism who is sharp and detail-oriented, yet also empathetic, and has good instincts for what makes great content for our audiences. They should be able to cover a wide range of topics that can help patients and caregivers in their daily lives. They will also be adept at using a variety of sources and incorporating different voices and perspectives to create a balanced, nuanced piece of content. 

 This is a full-time remote position reporting to the Content Director. Candidates in the U.S. are preferred, but strong international candidates will be considered. Writing samples are required as part of the application process. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Write well-researched articles that incorporate SEO best practices and follow Bionews editorial standards.
  • Work closely with our science editors, and copy editors to create unique health content in the rare disease space.
  • Conduct interviews with members of the research and patient communities to provide supporting details and additional perspectives in articles.
