Hi Kelly, oh yes it sure is hard work. Coming up with new posts and being passionate about them is key to success in blogging. I’ve seen too many bloggers quit after their first year. I need to work on updating some old posts, I love your ideas on that and on making a series. Thanks for sharing!

Ah, that makes two of us admiring the idea of series 🙂

Devoting some posts to “a series” is by far one of the most overlooked ways to keep a blog alive. Think of things like a weekly roundup, where you post the best relevant links from around the Web every Friday. Not only does this give your blog something fresh, but it helps you connect with others and make new friends (highly important in the blogosphere).

Another example: How to get traffic from XYZ (the choices are endless, such as Twitter/Facebook/Linkedin/Slideshare/Quora/Reddit/Stumbleupon) — I could go on and on.

This is an awesome post, Kelly. Thanks a bunch for sharing!

    Hi Kelly,

Searching other blogs is an easy peasy way to snag ideas. Great tips!

I also scour comments. I am a comment lounge lizard. I admit it. I read comments, spot problems or pain points and simply create posts based on the comments pulse I see out there. Really simple way to create posts on demand almost because readers present you with endless ideas when you observe their thoughts on these subjects.

    Thanks for sharing Kelly 🙂

You just brought up a great point there, which also reminds me…. viewing forum posts is another great idea.

For example, I often see threads on The Warrior Forum discussing the validity of passive income, which always triggers contradicting answers. One could use these recurring themes/subjects to definitively answer some common, burning questions.

Yep I see PLENTY of those posts on Warrior, Elvis 😉 A goldmine of ideas for us to explore over there.
